October 18, 2023 The Autopilot is released
It is a modern NMEA 2000 autopilot for small and medium sized boats with an unbeatable price of USD $349 and wide compatibility with other equipment.
After three years of development, we are pleased to present a pure NMEA 2000 autopilot that is not locked to proprietary sensors or pilot heads. It also has terminals for physical buttons, and you can install just the AUTO and STANDBY buttons to get the rugged companion to take the wheel.
It has a wide range of control options. It can be controlled by physical buttons, from modern Raymarine or Navico (B&G, Simrad, Lowrance) displays as a native autopilot, from Raymarine SeaTalk NG heads such as ST70, via digital switching interface (CZone and NMEA 2000 binary banks are supported), via the web interface provided by our gateways, from PC/mobile software and from old MFDs in TRACK (GO TO) mode.
All our gateways have been updated and tested with Autopilot. You can be sure that even old NMEA 0183 chartplotters will be able to manage our NMEA 2000 Autopilot using the NMEA 0183 Gateway or any other certified NMEA 0183 to NMEA 2000 Gateway.
Minimal installation requires only the NMEA 2000 network with heading and rudder angle sensors and the linear drive or reversible pump with clutch. The wind sensor is required for WIND mode and GPS for use in TRACK (or GO TO) mode.
We recommend that you order the Autopilot together with our NMEA 2000 gateways to USB, Ethernet or Wi-Fi. They allow you to update the firmware, adjust the settings if the autocalibration is not working well for your boat, and record diagnostic information. You can also use the CAN Log Viewer (v1.70, released last week) to commission the autopilot and turn your mobile phone into an autopilot remote control.
The Autopilot YDAP-04 is certified by National Marine Electronics Association and is ready for order. To learn more, please, refer to product's page, "User Manual" or "Installation and Commissioning Manual".
